My name is Julia, a.k.a. Lady J in the performance and modeling world. I am an artist in all aspects; a jane of all trades. I love to create evocative imagery with creativity and context. This series was a collaboration with artistic photographer, Michael A. Grapin, that expressed our mutual love of Middle Eastern Culture and Dance. I am a classicaly trained dancer, musician, and thespian. I learned to belly dance as a little girl. Michael was a drummer for a renowned belly dancer and wanted to reprise a scene right out of the sultan's harem. I was able to fuse all my skills into this body of work, reminiscent of the Black and White paintings that hung in my great grandmother's salon in 1920s' Greece.
