Florenz Ziegfeld, a famous American impresario and photographer is well known among the educated people of today. His first foray into the world of entertainment was at the 1893 Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition, where he managed the famous strongman, Eugen Sandow. His stage imposing performances beginning with his Follies of 1907 were produced annually until 1931. These terrific plays pictured some really beautiful girls chosen personally by “Flo” Ziegfeld. Such famous people as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Jerome Kern took care of the costumes and sets.
The maid on the couch is shown as an utterly vulgar lady and one can suppose she is that way in every single of her ways. She feels quite at ease practically naked, all her body is completely relaxed and we can see her delicate bosom, her thin skin almost glimmers in the darkness of the room. A part of her belly is shown in that special way when one can let his imagination run away with indecent thoughts. Her look is expressive, seems as if there were a person in the room encouraging her mood.
